Kohima Komets

After the formation of the Nagaland Premier League a group of likeminded people from varied fields but with the same vision of bringing into existence a professionally managed football team came together.
Thus Kohima Komets was launched on November 2011. They took the initiative being fully aware that football is one area which has immense potential and aims not only to create career opportunities for local youths but also to strengthen the economy of the State. The club on discovering the potential talents intends on further nurturing and encouraging the youth to consider football not only as game but also as a career choice. The club comes in with the ambitious attitude of being at the top of the league and on bearing the intention of nurturing talents it aims to set up a full fledged football academy and be a boon to football in the State.
The logo of the club has its own way of portraying the club and each constituent has a distinctive way of doing it. The color yellow in the logo represents optimism and the black stands for power and strength. The stripes represents the different tribes depicting unity and last but not the least the rising ball with stars describes the prime objective of the club to promote the Naga Footballers and interestingly the stars in the logo represents the footballers. With the vision that it has in place the management of the club believes that the NPL initiative is laudable as the platform it has created is going to benefit the State and its people enormously.
The best module for the league’s success is between the community support and the clubs. Support your team and we can usher in a new change in football development.
