Dimapur United FC

The Dimapur United FC was formed in November 2011 following the formation of NPL. It was formed not only to promote the game but also to promote the potentiality of football as a profession and also the commerical aspect of the sport. Along with providing physical and technical training in football Dimapur FC also aspires to establish a repectable team of players to participate in football tournaments in Nagaland and ultimately in the National level as well. Like most of its counterparts in the league Dimapur United FC is into the game to unearth local talents and to provide them an opportunity through proper training, exposure and nurturing them from the grassroot level to promote football not only as a sport but also as a profession.
Bringing out the club’s social streak is its objective to maintain not only the players but also its interest to maintain a community of those interested in football, its development and promotion by providing access to sports in Nagaland’s multi-tribal and multi-cultural environment based on equality, respecting differences, having a spirit of tolerance and understanding through education and social interaction. Being a game that engulfs around many spheres the club also aims to promote participation and understanding of the benefits of football by providing an enjoyable activity for all ages through playing, officiating, spectating and administrating thereby increasing the number of people being involved in the game. Right now the club is at its formative stage but the club is into the venture with the vision of becoming a football powerhouse. However, its immediate task is to build a strong fan base without which it would be impossible to fortify the club.
Football being the most popular game in the State was in dire need of a well organized league with a professional approach and it was at that juncture that NPL was introduced. The club thus lauds the bold initiative taken by 442 management in organizing NPL and terms it as one of the most anticipated event in the State lately.
The logo of the club with the hornbill feathers at the sides is a representation of Nagas from all sides as they are traditionally used in every Naga tribe’s culture. The football inside a circle indicates the love, importance and protection the club has for the sport. The color blue stands for the sea and the sky signifying trust and loyalty and the blue ring encircling the ball indicates the unbroken trust and loyalty the club has for football. Yellow represents sunlight and is associated with joy and intellect. The club name written with the color yellow denotes the energetic nature of the club, and its joy and love for football.The club believes that the introduction of NPL has opened a gateway of opportunities for the players to make it big as the clubs with professional aspect would transform our youths to take the game into a higher level because with good infrastructure and the right platform for exposure the talents from the State can excel even at the International level.
